In this time of prayer and fasting I’m hoping you begin to sense something powerful happening in you. Realizing God is doing something in you, empowering you, speaking into you. Many times God actually does this in ways that we don’t expect, in fact sometimes those moments look like distractions, but God really is setting you up.
It can look like you going about your day and He places someone in your proximity with a problem….at that point you can either:
A) Stop what you’re doing and be there for the person and watch as God moves
B) Don’t be bothered and keep going with your day
In Mark 14 we see something similar; 15 As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.” 16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.” 17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. 18 “Bring them here to me,” he said. 19 And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. 20 They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 21 The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.
The disciples didn’t want to be bothered with the crowd and their problem…Jesus took that opportunity to meet the people right where they were and everyone saw a miracle. If they had just sent them away and not been bothered, the disciples never would have seen that. Let’s not allow ourselves to miss the opportunities that God has for us just because they are wrapped in what seems a “distraction”
Praying for you! Pastor Patrick
