It’s a snow day! Yah! Well yah for some….for some you’re like….ugh! I think sometimes we approach the things of God like that as well. Some people love being the hands of feet of God and others….”well, that’s not my ministry.”
1 Corinthians 16:15 You know that the household of Stephanas were the first converts in Achaia, and they have devoted themselves to the service of the Lord’s people.
What is the difference? I believe it’s found in identity…Who’s we are. Too many christians operate like giving our lives to Christ is a decision that we make and then go on our way. We say we live for Christ, all the while living for ourselves. You can tell because if you only do what you want to do, you’re living for you, not for Christ. I believe the household of Stephanas understood that they were the Lord’s. Redeemed by the blood of Christ and therefore no longer their own. Now they belonged to the King of Kings.
But in todays culture we are so individualistic and that idea of not being our own runs counter cultural to what we feel. So the question you have to ask yourself is who are you really living for? If after asking that question and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak into that question and you don’t like the answer, make a change today. Don’t wait for tomorrow. Start today.
These are some of the things that God is speaking to us in this time of prayer and fasting.
Praying for you! Pastor Patrick
