Prayer is a powerful tool we’ve been given to use as followers of Christ. As we grow in Christ we come to understand more and more the value of prayer and the power that is found in it. One area of prayer that I’ve been challenged in, is praying for others. Praying for ourselves comes naturally. It’s easy to think of all the things we need and want and get caught up in just what we need.
In Ephesians 6:18 it says “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” This scripture directly follows the section that talks about the armor God. Paul is writing to the Ephesians and urging them to pray all the time and always keep on praying for others.
We all have people in our lives that need God to do a work in their lives. In some cases it’s easy to get overwhelmed by all that others need but the good thing is that we can rely on the Holy Spirit to guide our prayers and help us know what to pray for. Your prayers are making a difference! Continue pressing in for yourself and those around you.
